Today and tomorrow are active rest days for me because I have the Bear Mountain 10k race on Saturday morning. I am feeling a bit nervous about it because we have been doing hill repeats with our run club and I am not feeling very strong. I also haven’t raced in a while so there is that added nervousness. I told Warren on Wednesday night on our way back to home from run club that I was going to “run my run” on Saturday.I would do the best that I could do and I wasn’t going to worry about my time but run to how I was feeling.
This morning on my walk to and from work today I ran some errands and just enjoyed the fresh air. The temperature was mild on the way to work and the sky was a bit grey. I could see the sun peaking through the clouds like it wanted to be nice. Half way to work though it started to spit rain and I didn’t have a rain coat on. By the time I reached work I was only a bit damp so it wasn’t too bad.
The sky cleared up and the sun came out. It ended up being a beautiful day and evening. As I walked home this afternoon I admired the beauty of the sky and how it was different all around me. If I looked in one direction all I could see was the ball of fire as the sun was setting.
Then as I got closer to home the sky was more of a pinkish and grey hue and was filled with clouds. It is so neat how the sky can change so dramatically in only a few blocks.
It was a perfect rest day and let’s hope tomorrow mornings sky is just as pretty.
Do you take time to admire the sky when you are out walking or running?
