Big News

I have some big news to share!

I have officially signed up to run my first marathon! I will be running in the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon on May 24, 2015 and I am so excited!

Officially registered!

I have been putting in the training since the end of January but hadn’t registered because I was waiting to hear if Warren would be chosen to run with the CF National Team. He has been selected and will run the half marathon the same weekend. I am hoping to complete my marathon around 3:30 and if I succeed Warren and I should be crossing the finish line around the same time. That will be a first and something I would love to have happen. It would be great to have him in the finish line corral when I am done. I am sure to be crying tears of joy…and pain. But it will all be worth it.

My aunt lives in Perth, ON so we will stay with her and I will look forward to having her cheer me on. I also have a few friends in the city as well who have let me know they will come to cheer. I look forward to running in a new area and taking in all the sights and sounds around me. The unknown of the road ahead, the cheers from strangers and the adrenaline of running my first marathon…I can’t wait!

How did you feel when you registered for your first marathon? Were you like me and always said you would never run one?

  1. Great news! I’m sure you’ll love it – there’s nothing like your first marathon.
When I signed up for my first it was intended to be my ONLY marathon, just so I could have the experience. I’m now training for marathon number 7…

  2. Woo hoo! You’ll do great! You have experience with different distances. When I signed up for my first, I had only raced 5k’s. Mistake. Haha, I was a mess!
